The Spine Challenger is a winter, non-stop, Ultra-trail which takes place in England along the Pennine Way. Philippe won the 2013 edition an set a new record.
We often go to St Jeannet to run where we have several good Trails.
We ran all together up to the Col de Castillon, then Anna went back to Menton through the village of Sainte-Agnès while Alex and I continued toward the North to Luceram and then finished at La Manda.
It is a nice Trail, with a limited elevation gain +1000m / -1000m and where it is possible to run most of the time.
I did a 37 km loop starting in Plan du Var and climbing Mont Férion and Madone d’Utelle.
Last weekend Anna and I went to Newcastle for a new Berghaus Athletes camp. Once again, it was fun to meet with the other athletes.
We chose the Mont Tenibre (3031 m) which is one of the few 3000 meters peaks of the Alpes Maritimes.
We went back to Saint Martin-Vésubie for a 25 km +1800 m Trail. We did the Trail #8, Lacs des Millefonts as described on the Trail resort of Saint Martin-Vésubie website.
Anna and I participated in the first Kilometre Vertical in Martin-Vésubie.
The scenery on this section was very nice, wide open view over the mountain range and high peaks (over 7000 m I guess).
This stage was supposed to be long and difficult… and it was. And it was also very scenic, technical and fun.
